Ramayya Vasthavayya Movie Review

                      Ramayya Vasthavayya Movie Review

           Banner           : Sri Venkateshwara  Creations

           Produced by  : Dil Raju

           Directed by    : Harish Shankar

           Genre             : Action/Comedy

Lead Actors  : Jr. NTR, Samantha, Shruti Hasaan

           Rating            : 2.75 / 5

Story:

Jr.NTR(Nandu) is a college guy who rescues his friends in case of any trouble. One day he sees Samantha(Akshara) and falls head over heels for her. He hatches many plans for her, some of which turn futile and lead to a comedy of errors. He keeps following her until she reciprocates. One fine day, Nandu is invited to Akarsha's sister's marriage. There the story takes a sudden bang and we get to know that Nandu is a man on a mission. What is the sudden twist? Who is Nandu? Why did he love Akarsha ? What is the mission? forms the rest of the story.

Performances:

As usual NTR looks terrific in his role. He carries the entire movie on his shoulders. His dance moves  were excellent. We will be delighted to see his introduction as Duryodhana. The way he shifts gears from class act to funny zone to emotions to fights all in few minutes is quite interesting. Although he makes references to Sr.NTR, his dialogue delivery is Commendable. As a whole, he spreads his aura through the entire film.

Samantha looks gorgeous in this movie. She plays the role of a  glam doll. She occupies the major screen space with Jr.NTR in songs.

The entire plot revolves around the character portrayed by Shruti Hasaan. Although her presence in the film is less, she is the major driving force for the entire story.

Mukesh Rishi plays the Villain role in the movie. He has done justice to his role with his fine piece of performance.

Rao Ramesh with this witty dialogues plays the role of an investigating officer.

Technicalities:

Harish shankar who came into limelight with "GabbarSingh" had become the most sought director after this film. He should be commended for the way he presented Jr.NTR in an altogether unseen avatar. He proves his mettle in the first half  and faltered in the second-half. Second-half of the movie fails to engage the audience and this seems to be a big blow for Director. The entire plot seems to be like age-old one with tons of violence. The director should be lauded for his screen-play and the way he crafted the story in the first-half.

Cinematography by Chota K Naidu is good and it gives a fresh look and feel in first-half. He showed Samantha in a beautiful way.

Editing should have been done even more better.

Music:

Music by Thaman is good in two songs. For the remaining, it seemed as if  the music was impinged upon the songs. At some places, the music did not even sink into the song. Background score is good at some places.Overall, the music give us a feeling that we had heard it sometime before.

Analysis:

Ramayya Vasthayya is an routine story and offers nothing new. The film should be watched only for NTR's characterization and his performance. The first half of the movie looks interesting with comedy and action weaved in suitable amounts while the second-half tests the patience of the audience. Interval bang and gorgeousness of Samantha are the only highlights of the movie while NTR is also the major savior.

Verdict:

Watch it if you are the hard-core fan of Jr.NTR and love to see him in a mass-role.
